Pick a Song
In October 2016, I took Broadcast Graphics II, the second motion graphics class at the Seattle Art Institute. The first major assignment was to select a 30-second segment of a song and design a kinetic type video for it.
Naturally, I picked my favorite song at the time, "Best Friend" by Foster the People. It's a great upbeat song with lyrics that reference motion.

"It Comes in Waves..."
For the 30-second segment, I chose the beginning as it has a quick intro that drives right into the chorus. I knew I wanted the words to drop in and remain visible while the camera follows the animation along a path. This required animating the camera, utilizing Keyframe Interpolation. I used a number of animation techniques for the words. The entire project can be viewed by clicking the YouTube button.
